Raejeanne Skillern — Strategic Advisor, SolCrys

When we started SolCrys, we made a bet that AI answer engines would fundamentally change how customers discover, evaluate, and choose brands — and that most marketing teams weren't equipped for that shift yet.

Nine months in, that bet is no longer speculative. Buyers are starting product research in ChatGPT instead of Google. Shoppers are getting recommendations from Amazon Rufus and Walmart Sparky before they see a listing. Google AI Mode is changing search from a list of links into AI-generated answers that increasingly shape how customers discover brands. The companies winning are the ones treating AI visibility as something they can measure, diagnose, fix, and prove — not a black box.

That is the operating system we are building at SolCrys. And today, I'm thrilled to share that Raejeanne Skillern is joining us as a strategic advisor.

Why Raejeanne, and why now

Raejeanne spent more than 30 years inside the buildout of modern cloud infrastructure — at Intel, where she built the hyperscale data center business alongside AWS, Azure, and Google; at Flex, where she ran a multi-billion-dollar P&L for cloud, optical, and 5G; and most recently as CMO at AWS, where she led marketing through the early phase of the generative AI shift.

She has seen, more than almost anyone in the industry, how an inflection point in infrastructure rewrites how every category gets sold. That perspective is exactly what we need right now, for three main reasons.

1. She understands what changes when a category moves from search-led to recommendation-led discovery.

The buyer journey for cloud compute did not simply change — the entire vendor evaluation framework changed. The same shift is now happening for consumer brands, B2B software, retail SKUs, and professional services inside the AI answer layer. Most of our customers are still operating with SEO-era playbooks. Raejeanne has lived through this kind of transition before, and she can help us help them.

2. She has scaled marketing organizations that operate as one team alongside product and sales.

Answer Engine Optimization is not just an SEO-team problem. It requires collaboration across SEO, PMM, brand, communications, PR, product, and sales. SolCrys is built to be the connective tissue between these teams, and Raejeanne has built the operating models that make this kind of cross-functional execution work at scale.

3. She brings board-level perspective at exactly the right time for SolCrys.

Raejeanne sits on the boards of Jabil (NYSE: JBL) and Dycom Industries (NYSE: DY). The questions boards are now asking about AI exposure — what is our visibility, where are we losing share, is this measured — are exactly the questions SolCrys is built to answer. Having someone on the team who thinks about technology adoption from both sides of the boardroom table sharpens how we build, what we prioritize, and how we define the category.

What this signals for the brands we serve

If you're a customer, advisor, partner, or prospect reading this: Raejeanne's involvement is a signal of where we're investing. Over the next two quarters we are doubling down on three things.

  • Cross-engine measurement depth — moving beyond mention and citation counting to true Share of Recommendation and answer-accuracy tracking, prompt-by-prompt, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews / AI Mode, Perplexity, Amazon Rufus, Walmart Sparky, and ChatGPT Shopping.
  • Corporate Context as the brand operating layer — ensuring every action SolCrys recommends is grounded in your approved stats, claims, and guardrails by default, so your content stays on-brand, accurate, and defensible.
  • The execution loop — closing the gap between 'we found the gap' and 'we fixed it', with draft briefs to media outlets, analysts and influencers, FAQ updates, and content actions tied to measurable movements in AI answers.

Closing

I started SolCrys with my co-founders Eason and Jia because we believed brand discovery was about to be rewritten, and the teams building inside that change deserved a real operating system, not another dashboard.

Bringing Raejeanne onto the team will help us better serve our customers as they navigate this next phase of AI discovery.

Welcome, Raejeanne. We're thrilled to have you with us.
