Auditing one page

The page-level view: whether a specific URL is answer-ready, and what recovering the lost points actually requires.

Page-level readiness is a separate question

Prompt-level measurement tells you what engines say about your category. A content audit asks a narrower question about one URL: is this page structured so an engine can extract an answer from it, and is it credible enough to be worth citing.

These are graded across content quality, credibility, technical readability, and discoverability. The credibility weighting surprises people — sourced statistics, external citations, and clear authorship carry real weight, which is the page-level expression of the consensus principle from Module 1.

Choosing the URL

You have one audit. Spend it on the page that should be winning a prompt you are losing — not your homepage, which is rarely the page an engine wants for a specific question.

If your Deep Analysis pointed at a content gap, the right URL is the page that ought to cover that gap. If no such page exists, that is itself the finding, and Module 5 becomes about creating it rather than fixing something.

Read the recoverable points, not the score

The score is a summary. The useful part is the itemised list of what is missing and how many points each would recover, because that is a ranked work list with effort implied.

Work top-down and be honest about which items you can substantiate. An audit may note that sourced statistics would help; inventing a statistic to satisfy it is worse than leaving the points on the table, because a fabricated fact is exactly what accuracy monitoring exists to catch.

Where this lives in SolCrys

  • Content Audit runs from the workspace audit surface against a URL you specify.
  • Free includes one per month. There is also a standalone free audit at app.solcrys.com/audit, which is email-gated but does not need a workspace.
  • The report itemises checks with recoverable points and concrete before-and-after guidance.

Lab: Audit the page that should be winning

Needs a free SolCrys account (no credit card). Spends 1 of 1 Content Audit.

  1. Choose the URL that should be answering a prompt you are losing.
  2. Run the audit.
  3. Rank the findings by recoverable points against the effort to fix.
  4. Cross off anything you cannot substantiate honestly.
  5. Keep the top three. That is your Module 5 scope.

If no page exists for the gap, note that instead — creating the page is a legitimate and often better Module 5 outcome.
